Full-day tour exploring very small family-run wineries in the Chianti region and meeting the wine makers in person... friendly people and a lot of surprises!

Highlights

The day starts with an introduction to the rural Tuscany and to its most important wine regions right before your departure from Borgo alle Vigne. On the way to the first winery we will stop at some panoramic spots for incredible pictures. As the road goes up and down along a very scenic quintessential countryside, I will show many aspects of the territory to help you understand the reasons of such a natural and man-made beauty. The first winery of this tour is on a hilltop in the Western Chianti region. The owner lives on the property and welcomes us in her very panoramic garden. We will visit all premises and learn about their very unique approach in wine making, including their very original decision not to produce a Chianti wine here! In fact, you will taste some supertuscan-style wines, accompanied by some little snacks. Before reaching the second microwinery of the day, we will have a chance to get some coffee and pastries at one of the tiny villages along the route. The afternoon is dedicated to a picturesque little farm where another family has been producing wines for decades. In this case, their production is perfectly in line with the territory and the wines produced include Chianti Classico DOCG and Vernaccia DOCG. After visiting the winemaking area, a very interesting tasting session with detailed explanations directly by the winemaker right under a stunning pergola will complete the day. - Drive to a first microwinery with a few stops along the way (1.5 hours) - Visit to the first microwinery and wine tasting with snacks (1.5 hours) - Stop in a tiny village for coffee and pastries (1 hour) - Visit to the second microwinery and wine tasting with snacks (1.5 hours) - Drive back to Borgo alle Vigne (1.5 hours)
