Siena is a historic city in the region of Tuscany, in central Italy. At the heart of the city lies Piazza del Campo, a unique shell-shaped square where the traditional horse race known as the Palio di Siena takes place twice each summer. Another highlight is the magnificent Siena Cathedral, a stunning example of Italian Romanesque-Gothic architecture decorated with black-and-white marble. The historic center of Siena is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, admired for its narrow streets, medieval buildings, and rich artistic traditions. San Gimignano is one of the most beautiful medieval towns, with great panoramic views, nice boutique shops and great gelato. At the end of the tour we can stop in the countryside in a local winery (optional), where you can taste a range of red and white wines.
