If you want to spend a few hours surrounded by unforgettable artworks the FLORENCE WALKING TOUR AND UFFIZI MUSEUM won’t disappoint you! We start our adventure in the Religious Centre “PIAZZA DEL DUOMO” where you can admire the breathtaking Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore (4th largest church in the world), learn the secrets of Brunelleschi’s famous dome and discover the beauty of Giotto’s belltower and St John Baptistery with its golden bronze doors (including the well-known “Porta del Paradiso”). We continue our tour with a stroll through the ancient MEDIEVAL QUARTER of the city to arrive in REPUBLIC SQUARE, the real city center since Roman times. PIAZZA DELLA SIGNORIA is our next stop, this is one of the most renowned and photographed squares in the world. Here you can admire PALAZZO VECCHIO, the political headquarters and one of the symbols of the city for centuries, the replica of Michelangelo’s David right in front of the palace and the square itself which is an open air museum with sculptural masterpieces by Cellini, Giambologna, Ammannati and others. The itinerary includes a walking tour inside the UFFIZI GALLERY with a skip-the-line ticket. We look at the most important masterpieces made by artists such as Lippi, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian and many others, focusing on the paintings’ history, meaning and technique of execution. This tour also gives us the opportunity to talk about the Medici, bankers and patrons in Florence, who commissioned the Uffizi Palace in the late 16th century. Then....what about having a coffee break at the Uffizi Coffee Shop?! It’s the perfect way to refresh ourselves and take a look at the amazing view from a big terrace. We’ll enjoy a privileged perspective of the huge Dome sipping our Italian Espresso.
